- Normals & Speed: Jamie has some incredible cancellable pokes in 5MK, 2MK and 5HK; and he has above average walkspeed to play footsies with. At Drink Lv.4, he gets a safe meterless cancel into Freeflow Strikes on block, harassing the opponent and chipping away at their Drive gauge. His close range normals are also solid for frame traps and beating options such as Drive Impact.
- Drinking Master: As Jamie increases his Drink Levels, he deals more damage and unlocks new moves. By level 4 he becomes a far more threatening character as he gains access to a Dive Kick, a Command Grab, powerful combo finishers, and a plethora of move follow-ups. He also has a huge number of ways to get drinks off; whether it be off his sweep, Freeflow Strikes, Punish Counters, etcetera.
- Come at Me!: Jamie's Drinks put unique pressure on his opponents to approach him before he levels up. Characters without full-screen presence can find it hard to stop Jamie from taking a swig in neutral.

- Drink Reliant: Jamie's potential increases considerably with each Drink Level. Against someone who prevents him from drinking, he can struggle to keep up. His Level 2 Super gives him a temporary boost to Drink Lv.4, but if Jamie fails to close out the round, he loses all that meter and accumulated Drink levels.
