Elias is a traveling priest from Ireland who was born into a high-class strictly religious family. After Elias turned into a young adult, a tragic murder occurred within the Patrick family and Elias was pinned as the culprit. Even though he was innocent, he was swiftly sent to prison. While being in prison, Elias lost his religious faith and decided to pick up boxing while in prison. Shortly after, he met the prison's priest who restored his religious faith and taught him the arts of Exorcisms.

Years later, Elias was acquitted and released from prison. He dedicated his life to saving those who meet misfortune in their lives. Over time, he built a shelter orphanage in Sunshine City and saved many from their struggles. One day, Elias received a call from a client to help with the possession of a young girl and this girl was Alice. Not wanting to harm Alice, Elias couldn't use his methods to rid the evil spirit of her body. So he seeks out another solution, and that solution is to seek out the Black Dragon, Johann.

Elias is a good balance of offense and defense. He can easily keep the opponent controlled in neutral.

Great Versatile Toolset: Elias' toolset is great for playing defensively and offensively. With an excellent command grab, quick overhead, and an impact that has invincibility frames. Self Healing: Elias can heal himself off of his Maximum Delirium Super and Hell or Heaven special. It's a very small heal, about 10% of the damage delt.	Struggles to hit crouching opponents: Elias' cl.C, 5C, guard cancel, and tag in can all be low profiled by most characters. This is devastating since cl.C is one of Elias' best normals. Slow Zoning: Elias has super slow zoning, for example, his holy flare can be punished full screen if timed correctly.

With big buttons, semi-safe moves on block, huge slow-moving fireball good for oki pressure, easy high/low mix-ups and a very strong command grab Elias has almost everything to keep the opponent controlled. However, Elias does suffer from short crouching hitboxes. Some moves like cl.C, 5C and his Guard Cancel whiff on crouching opponents such as Pupa, Alice, Jones, and more.
