Adon
Adon struggles hard to get in against Retsu due to his slow approach and buttons. Secure a lifelead then turtle, and Adon can't do much. If you lose lifelead, the matchup becomes harder, but still winnable; try to keep a good distance from Adon and poke from afar.
Birdie
Eagle
This is a very good matchup for Retsu due to the fact Eagle struggles to get in, and you outrange him completely with HK. If he does get close to you, you can duck and counter his LP, MP, and HP, but not LK or jumpkick. Watch out for especially aggressive playstyles that may catch you off guard, and don't panic if he gets close to you, as there are usually ways to escape.
