Street Fighter (1987)/Geki

From SuperCombo Wiki

Geki is a non-playable character in the first Street Fighter game as one of the ten CPU Fighters.
Geki, sometimes called Geki I, is a claw-wielding ninja armed with shurikens and smoke bombs, being able to teleport around the screen. Not much is known about him other than the fact he was likely killed during a mission in Asia after the events of SF1, and has since been succeeded by a ninja referred to as "Geki II".

Geki is, almost without a doubt, the most unique character in SF1++. He has a completely unique "block", projectiles in the form of his shuriken, and a wider moveset than most of the other CPUs. Sadly, despite his uniqueness, he's almost unanimously considered the worst character in SF1++ due to a myriad of difficulties and weaknesses that make him have to fight an uphill battle. A couple matchups are even straight up impossible for him; that's not an exaggeration. But for the matchups he can win, Geki in the hands of a clever player can prove to be a deceptively devilish character, especially since his teleport, or block, gives him a ghosting ability that is (mostly) uncontestable, allowing him to secure a round with a lifelead.

A word of warning: If you wanna main Geki, go for it. But one matchup; Birdie in particular; is a painful 0:10 that is basically impossible to make work. So if you're up against a Birdie, you're better off picking someone else.

In SF1++, Geki is selected by holding Lp.png and Hk.png at the title screen or VS. Screen and pressing Start.

Advantages & Disadvantages
Pros Cons
Has the ability to ghost against most characters Very low damage on his moves, struggles to make comebacks
Decent projectiles give him a fairly safe way to attack most characters His moves have very slow speed and are sometimes punishable on hit
Only needs one hit to begin his stalling most of the time Basically no favorable matchups except Mike, and has a 0:10 against Birdie
