Strengths Weaknesses
  • Easy Combos and Conversions: Scorpion is one of the most simple beginner characters to learn due to his extremely simple combos and transitions into specials.
  • Specials: Scorpion's specials typically have a short startup and recovery, allowing most of his specials to be safer on block (or at least safe enough to begin a string).
  • Predictable: Scorpion's playstyle often funnels into a good rushdown complemented by his three-hit strings and Hell Port, but over time, and especially due to Scorpion being overused in online play, it's relatively simple to predict a Scorpion player's next move or string and find a gap to punish from.
  • Underwhelming Damage: Most of Scorpion's basic strings and specials aren't able to deal much damage on their own, demanding more effort from the player. Creating more complex combo extensions can benefit and increase his damage output.
