* '''Huge Normals''': Abubo's normals are HUGE and LONG. They can be used to control mid-screen if the opponent slips up.
* '''Great Meterless Combos''': Most of Abubo's specials can immediately send someone to a wall or a corner. A violent Instinct is great for this since it keeps Abubo close enough to command-grab opponents.
* '''Corner Shredder''': When Abubo gets an opponent pinned in the corner, he can use his Option Select to keep the pressure up on the opponent. Thanks to his Violent Instinct special, opponents are always in the corner.
* '''Strong Option Select''': Abubo's OS is very strong in the corner, you can shred someone if they don't have a tag-in partner to escape. If they slip up, you command grab them or hit them with impact and just loop.

* '''Slow and Large''': Abubo gets bullied since his moves share huge hurtboxes and long recovery. If Abubo is caught in the corner, it is very hard for him to escape.
* '''Too Big, Too Slow''': Abubo's moves are too slow to defend himself when stuffed, and landing instant overheads on him is much easier due to his larger size. It's very hard to escape the corner as Abubo.
* '''Poor Combo Options''': Abubo's moveset makes it very difficult for him to get reliable combos. His simple BnB consists of hit confirms and first hit cancels.
* '''Limited Super Usage''': Since his super is a command grab, he can only do it on the ground. Any air combos must be done meterless, limiting his damage potential.
* '''Low Damage On Command Grab''': With Abubo being the resident big boy grappler, his command grab does very low damage. They also launch the opponent very far, makes command grabs outside of the corner very hard to keep pressure up with.
* '''Relies On Hit Confirms''': Abubo's slowness doesn't let him get a good jump in, he must rely on 2A and 2B hit confirms to do anything.
