Pokken Tournament DX/Blastoise/Introduction

From SuperCombo Wiki

Introduction

Blastoise is far from a “good” character, even though he has a lot of incredible tools, a lot of said tools are situational, meaning you don’t get to use him to his full potential against any character because all characters can easily exploit his weaknesses.
So why would you play Blastoise despite being arguably the worst character in the game?
Simple, he is an incredibly fun character who you can play any way you want to.

You want to zone your opponent? You can do that.

You want to apply shield pressure? You can do that.

You want to do rushdown? You are a complete lunatic, but you can do that.

Blastoise players all agree that even though the character isn’t great, he is too much fun not to play, if you aren’t interested in being competitive, or you just like to make your own playstyles and not be contained to a single archetypal playstyle like some other characters, Blastoise is your character of choice.

Shell Fortress Stance

Pressing R during certain attacks or performing Withdraw will cause Blastoise to hide in its shell. While hiding in its shell, Blastoise cannot move, but is High invuln. Pressing R will cause Blastoise to pop out of his shell(takes 29F, 1-28F Low invuln), and tapping a direction and R will cause him to spin in that direction while doing so (6R/sR takes 29F, 1-16F High invuln, SFS 4R takes 36F, 1-19F High invuln). Pressing B causes Blastoise to leap into the air as it emerges from its shell, and works similar to a normal jump, except that Blastoise is Air Actionable on Frame 16, as opposed to Frame 5. Blastoise will also emerge from its shell automatically after 70F.

Pressing X or Y during Shell Fortress Dance lets Blastoise perform special Normal Attacks exclusive to that stance, and pressing A allows it to perform Rapid Spin, which comes out 10 Frames faster when done from within Blastoise's shell.
