Introduction

Yang got a job at Starbucks where he abuses his employee discount. His organs are shutting down but he seems happy.


Yang is a well-rounded character who focuses on powerful neutral and a wide variety of options to keep the opponent on their toes.

Players familiar with Yang from games like USF4 or SF3 will quickly recognize that much of his core gameplan is the same. Yang has amazing options to control neutral, most notoriously his long range normals and his extremely safe 236P Slashes which can confirm into a knockdown or a further combo with meter. New to Remix, Yang comes with extended chains, being one of the only two characters able to do MP > MK, the other being Cammy. This allows him to confirm into his new and powerful launchers, 2HP and 2HK, for very respectable damage. Yang can control the air as well, as 623LK Upkicks acts as a standard DP in Remix.

On offense, Yang has about every tool you could want. His j.MK is a great crossup, his divekicks are as good as ever, and his command grab leads to a full combo and solid damage. Extended chains and a plus on block cl.MP give him plenty of frametraps and tick throws, and 6HK is a somewhat slow but extremely rewarding overhead that can chain to divekicks on block to make him plus. His defense has a few unique traits, since while 623LK is a real DP, the light version of 214P Palm is a counter that does good damage and is active frame 1 to beat safejumps.

Yang is a bit slow in terms of movement, which can hurt against the lightspeed top tiers, but outside of this he's solid in almost every sense of the word. Yang has every tool you could want in a Remix character.

  • Well-Rounded: Yang comes with almost every tool you could want in a Remix character besides a projetile, though he has plenty of ways to deal with the opponents projectiles anyway.
  • Meter Usage: A wide variety of useful EX moves and supers and strong ways to use CC means Yang only gets scarier with resources.
  • Slow: Yang lacks extremely powerful mobility, with a slightly above average walkspeed, underwhelming dash, non-invincible backdash, and only divekicks to alter his air trajectory.
