- Oppressive Toolset: His hop 9D is fantastic as a pressure tool since it hits twice before he lands. Light Retro Knuckle is also -3 on block, which can only be punished by command grabs. This makes it very spamable.
- Good Mid-Range Defense: 2C is a great anti-air at ranges, Retro Knuckle and Funky Impact's armor also make some mid-range encounters trivial.

- No Close Range Defense: Jones only has Guard Cancel at close range, which isn't the best due to its longer start-up. Being tall, he struggles to walk under jump-ins.
- Predictable Gameplan: Jones wants to get in or play neutral. If the opponent expects him to do hop 9D, 6A overhead, or 2B. He isn't getting in.
