d3f1anc3SRK - About Me // Primer & Updates

Taken from "User Page" - direct to the bottom of the page for additional updates.

Fighting game zealot. I've been playing fighting games since I was... well. Since forever. SF2CE on the Sega Genesis to be exact... I had to beg my parents to let me play it... thereafter... it quickly turned into a labor of love. I am by no means a tournament level player, a combo-video developer, or some engine-genius, but I love to figure stuff out and if I'm allowed a platform to help others to do so as well, so be it.

I'm probably missing some but off the top of my head I've dedicated many hours of my life and as a result had a lot of fun times and fond memories of those games/franchises. I enjoy games of all genres but there is something about fighting games that just keeps me coming back for more, regardless of the style/gameplay system. There is really nothing more satisfying in gaming for me then the mental chess match between two people locked into fighting one another, or the .exe that takes place at the same time between the mind and the body - well, body in this context being your fingers, haha. It's very exhilarating.

That should sum me up in a nutshell. Fighting games are an ongoing passion of mine that will never subside.

Updates - 2/20/2011

) I will be having quite a bit of free time next week, and plan on writing up several articles about my team in MvC3 thus far, being Akuma, Dante, and Wesker. Planned dates for contributions are the 24th-27th. And as always will be an ongoing work in progress. I will cover basic character fundamentals, effective combos, mixups/resets and whatever else I feel can be useful. All of course from my own personal experience. In the future when I feel comfortable I've worked enough on that particular team composition, I will be moving to Trish, Dante, Zero and finally Chris, Jill, and Wesker. I haven't decided who I'm going to use yet concerning the Marvel cast members.

) I also forgot to mention I have played Guilty Gear X2 Reload and GGXXAC - or Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, along with every game in the Samurai Shodown and SoulCalibur franchises. They are included in the above mentioned "Fighterography" (yes, I'm aware I just made that up lol)

I'm looking forward to working with all of the other editors and sharing my ideas. I shall return later next week to begin my work.

Minor Update - 2/26/2011

I've decided to forgo work until I come within some means of a decent recording solution to use in tandem with articles supplementing the material. YouTube is an excellent tool and resource for the fighting game community and I feel anything I'm able to contribute would be a lot more complete with both, instead of one missing from the equation.

We shall see what I can come across.
