Introduction
Paul earned the right to once again fight his rival Kazuya during The King of Iron Fist Tournament 2, but a traffic jam made him miss the deadline and he was forced to forfeit. All these years later, Paul kept up with his daily training regimen until he received an unexpected invitation to the 3rd tournament. He knows he's still got what it takes - time to win the big one and prove who's the best once and for all. Even at 46 years of age, Paul has no weak spots!
Players who find themselves staring down Paul are certain to be wary of his Phoenix Smasher (qcf+2), also aptly known as the Deathfist. Being a fast, rangey, safe-on-block mid that makes huge chunks of health vanish in an instant; it's easy to see why it became somewhat synonymous with the character. But Paul is no one-trick pony. It's hard to feel wanting when looking at what Paul's moveset because he has many qualities a character would want: good damage, strong pokes, special movement, parries, a great df+2; we could go on. If anything about Paul as a character is lacking, its that he leans on the "honest" side of scale. Other than Bone Breaker (d+4,2), which is extremely punishable on block, Paul has no particularly threatening low attacks to force the opponent's respect, meaning he can't rely too heavily on the basic mid/low mix-up to take home games. Often times, the strikes he scores will be punishes, counters, trades, or the opponent simply neglecting to block in time - but those strikes will send them reeling.
