Soulcalibur VI/Cassandra

From SuperCombo Wiki

Introduction

When compared to her sister Sophitia, Cassandra fights with a more uninhibited style, using her shield both to strike her opponent and sometimes even as a projectile. However, perhaps due to this aggressive approach, her defensive abilities occasionally come up lacking.

Cassandra is an aggressive gorilla character who attacks recklessly with close-range attacks, command grabs and a unique tackle stance. She can kick up the risk/reward a notch by spending her own guard gauge for some attacks, and has a unique powerup mechanic.

Strengths Weaknesses
  • Fast movement
  • Oppressive pressure
  • Solid tech crouch and aGI attacks
  • Able to force plus frames both on block and on hit
  • High risk, especially when spending guard gauge
  • Potential for high-execution, including just frames and iWR
  • Weak ring out and wall game

Unique Mechanics

Divine Force

Certain moves will imbue Cassandra's shield with electricity, a state called Divine Force. She can spend this state to use some devastating options, including projectiles at a variety of ranges and new enders for different strings. Divine Force attacks (and those that grant it if she already has it) have the added benefit of recovering 10% of her guard stamina on hit.

Spending Guard Gauge

A few of Cassandra's attacks have a pink glass shattering effect on them, signifying her losing 10% of her guard gauge in order to perform that attack. Notably, almost all of the followups from her Angelic Twirl stance cost guard gauge. She also has a lethal hit that she gains access to at critical levels of guard gauge.

SCVI Cassandra Face.jpg
Cassandra is the daughter of an Athenian baker. Some time had passed since her sister Sophitia postponed her wedding and vanished, leaving only a note. Secretly, Cassandra had a feeling she knew where Sophitia had gone. Three years prior, her sister had returned from a journey to "destroy the evil sword Soul Edge," an explanation her family had a difficult time accepting. It stood to reason, then, that Sophitia's departure meant Soul Edge had somehow been restored, and if she was going to subdue it once again, Sophitia would need the appropriate weapon and armor... Half-convinced of where she needed to go, Cassandra suddenly began to run.
