Crouch Cancel verb
A technique where a defender at low percents simply holds down on the control stick when they are about to get hit by certain attacks, to trigger ASDI towards the ground and land immediately. The landing severely reduces the knockback and hitstun of the strike, allowing for a punish in most situations.

CC verb
Shorthand for "Crouch Cancel", a technique that utilizes ASDI to severely reduce the knockback and hitstun of attacks to allow for a punish.

GALINT noun
Shorthand for "Grounded Actionable Ledge Intangibility", which is the number of actionable intangible frames after a ledgedash
Hitlag noun
A brief period for which the game freezes when an attack lands.

IASA verb
Shorthand for Interruptible As Soon As, which are the first frame of a moves recovery that can be cancelled into any action except Shield.

Low Profile noun, verb
A move or action that greatly shrinks a character's hurtbox, to avoid certain moves that would hit a normal stance otherwise.

Meleemeter (Mm) noun
Term given to nameless unit of measurement for distance in within SSBM's 3D space. 1 Mm is equivalent to 0.1 meters (1 decimeter) as displayed in Home Run Contest.
Meteor Cancel verb
Cancelling the knockback of a meteor smash by jumping or upbing 8 frames or more after hitlag ends.
Meteor Smash noun
An attack that sends downwards at an angle between (angle range idr). Meteor smashes can be meteor cancelled.

Setplay noun, verb
Performing pre-calculated maneuvers in a flow-chart manner in specific situations, that will typically secure an offensive despite many of the opponent's defensive attempts.

Shorthand for Short Hop Fast Fall L-Cancel, pronounced "shuffle"

Shinespike verb
A technique where a Fox or Falco player use their Reflector to send a opponent down and off the stage at an unfavorable recovery angle.
Spacies noun
A nickname for the Star Fox characters of SSB (Fox, Falco, Wolf).

Spike noun
An attack that sends down at an angle outside of the meteor smash range, and thus cannot be meteor cancelled.

Sakurai Angle, grounded hit sends at 0° under 32 KB, 44° above 32.1 KB; and always sends at 45° on aerial hit.
