Project Justice/Kyosuke

Introduction

Cool, Calculated, and the final piece of the Taiyo-trio with Batsu and Hinata by his side. Originally acting as a double agent for his twin brother Hyo in Rival Schools: United by Fate, Kyosuke, through the bonds he gains with his newfound friends, manages to not only rescue Batsu's kidnapped Mother, but also convinces Hyo to change his ways and make peace with both himself and the world around him. However, it seems that Hyo may be returning to his old ways in Project Justice...

Kyosuke is a fairly versatile character in combat. While debatably not the best in terms of zoning, Cross Cutter has impressive vertical reach compared to other projectiles. His "Flash kick" (Shadow Cut Kick) is performed with Qcf.pngK.png, so he has a very effective anti-air at-the-ready without any of the typical charge time seen in other fighters. Kyosuke is also one of the few characters with a Super that doubles as a Rival Launcher, leading to very damaging combos in the right hands. If that wasn't enough, some versions of Project Justice contain a glitch that allows Kyosuke to lunch his opponent into the air and restand- resulting in wild combo potential (even if typically deemed illegal in a tournament setting).


Strengths Weaknesses
  • Versatile gameplan- can operate as a zoner or stay on the offensive.
  • Long reaching normals can be very effective against Tardy-Counter-Happy opponents that lack a far-reaching response out of TC.
  • Lp.png is +11 on block, meaning Kyosuke can quickly keep up the pressure when he decides he wants in.
  • Super Lightning Upper doubles as a Rival Launcher, leading to heavy damage.
  • Can be very predictable/inneffective mixing up between Lp.png pressure:
    • Kyosukes overheads, 4Hk.png and Shadow Breaker, have long-reach relatively slow startup; primed to be TC'd.
    • Relatively slow fireballs combined with how far across the screen Project Justice allows players to stay can lead to dry stalemates.
