Pokken Tournament DX/Croagunk/Introduction

From SuperCombo Wiki

Introduction

Croagunk is a tricky, mobile, pestering character with lots of RNG-based moves and mechanics. He's goofy and difficult, and requires players to adapt and manage to different situations based on his RNG, which gives positive results more often if Croagunk is low in HP. His aerial mobility is among the best of the entire cast, and he has very strong aerial attacks which makes for a character with a great air game. Many of his moves are also jump cancellable on hit or block, meaning he can apply pressure without having to hard commit to things. Croagunk can randomly buff or debuff both himself or the opponent, which will give you new tools depending on the scenario, such as 4A becoming stronger when the opponent is buffed and 2A becoming stronger when the opponent is debuffed. Croagunk also has amazing chip damage output, possibly the best in the entire game.

However, due to being an RNG character, Croagunk can be quite inconsistent at times, and it can feel like many things, good and bad, are out of your control entirely. His damage output can vary wildly, sometimes struggling to even break 150 with an (incredibly difficult to perform) full combo, and sometimes dealing shocking amounts of damage very quickly. He's also quite stubby, as his best buttons have little range and his midrange buttons are riskier to use. Overall, Croagunk is very unorthodox, which leads to him being a pretty rare sight, and a character not many people know how to deal with at higher levels.

Wall Cling

Holding j.sX, j.1/3/7/9Y or 6X near a wall allows Croagunk to latch onto it, granting him 180F of Speed Up for each second spent clinging to the wall, up to a maximum of 3 seconds before Croagunk is forced off. During this time, Croagunk slides down the wall, and can end Wall Cling early by pressing B or performing any Air Action.
