Introduction
Gunter is a grappler character that overwhelms opponents with his raw strength, access to a reliable overhead, and command throws. Gunter's raw strength greatly contributes to his overall stun and damage output. Since many of Gunter's attacks deal a lot of damage on their own, even his shortest combos deal a significant amount of damage. What makes Gunter's damage output even more dangerous is his chip damage. Often, he'll outright steal rounds by excessively chipping out the opponent. To add on, Gunter is one of the few characters who has access to a reliable overhead. His overhead is quick and inflicts a lot of stun, which compliments his raw strength and overall stun output. Gunter's final trait is his powerful command throw. Command throws have invincibility, come out at instant speed, lack recovery frames, and can be used out of guard cancels. With these properties, other characters will have a difficult time performing block strings because Gunter can effectively punish any move on block.
